OUR HISTORY

SAXUM began its activities in 1996, providing high-level engineering and project management services to the industry.

 Our international experience and value added engineering services, including metallurgic and cement processes, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, as well as in project management to the mining, cement/lime, grain/seed, and manufacturing industries, as well to infrastructure projects, allowed us to attend a growing and prominent international clientele, with emphasis on the Americas.

 Our project management procedures have demonstrated high effectiveness to meet clients´ needs, while achieving the demanding targets of their projects. These unique features allow SAXUM to be involved in the most relevant projects of the industries we attend in the Americas, and to appropriately respond to the growing customer demands in the region.

Marcelo AnsardiChemical Engineer

He has worked in the Mining, Cement, Minerals & Metals and Iron & Steel industries in North/South America, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.

Throughout his career, Chris has held top management positions in Engineering, Project Management – EPCM and EPC, Business Development, Technical Marketing, Operations and Technology Development. He has also led multi-disciplinary teams performing all phases of Studies – Scoping, Trade-Offs, Concept, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility, as well as Preliminary, Basic and Detailed Engineering.

With over thirty years experience, he has worked for Samsung C&T, WorleyParsons, Rio Tinto, Hatch, Danieli and Acindar in Chile, Brazil, Australia, USA, Italy and Argentina.

Marcelo AnsardiMechanical Engineer

Wide experience in management of industrial maintenance, production management and leadership in projects for cement and mining companies. Knowledge and abilities in quality management, maintenance centered in reliability and tribology.

He has acquired deep knowledge and relationships in the cement technology market and with each of the suppliers.

He has carried out projects for Glencore Xstrata, InterCement, Lafarge, Holcim, Grupo Argos, Ciments Molins, Cimpor, Votorantim Cimentos, and Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, among others.

esteban LescanoMore than 9 years of experience in expansion projects for mining and cement installations. Preparation of documents for conceptual, basic and detailled engineering. Coordination of multidisciplinary working groups.

He has carried out projects for Minera Alumbrera, Cerro Vanguardia, Farallón Negro(YMAD), Minera Santa Cruz, Mina Veladero, Borax Argentina, Mina Manantial Espejo, Mansfield(Proyecto Lindero), CSN(Brasil), Cementos Yura, Cementos Ultracem, Holcim Midlothian(USA), Votorantim Cementos(USA), Galaxy(Sal de Vida), SOBOCE(Bolivia), FLS.

More than 15 years of experience in real estate administration, expert judiciary reports and consultancy in tax and auditing.

LUIS ALBERTO NORNIELLAMore than 10 years of experience in the design and calculation of structures, using computational analysis based on the Finite Element Method.

Extensive experience in design of concrete, metallic and mixed structures.

Extensive knowledge in the design and dynamic verification of foundations of vibratory equipment, mills, fans and crushers. Including dynamic interaction analysis.

Knowledge of international codes and standards from different countries. Coordination of working groups, strongly oriented towards meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Experience in supervision during the execution of works such as foundations of mills, buildings of hoppers, silos, office buildings, etc.

Monica PerosaMaster in Development of Middle Management

Civil Engineer

Extensive experience in civil/structural design, and constructions. Great experience in computational analysis: calculation and modeling of foundations and superstructures for industrial facilities. Knowledge of construction standards for various countries.

Extensive worldwide experience using state-of-the-art construction materials and optimizing the weight of complex structures by mathematical modeling as well as cross-referencing with past projects. Wide experience in the development, revision and design optimization for complex structures with computational analysis. Experienced in seismic analysis, diagnostics and remediation of structural pathologies.

She has carried out projects for InterCement, Cementos San Juan, Italcementi, Caribbean Cement, Glencore Xstrata, Kuwait Cement Company, Lafarge, Yura, Polysius, Votorantim Cimentos, Bechtel, Barrick Gold, AngloGold Ashanti and Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, among others.

Roque EspecheElectrical Engineer

Electrical Lead Engineer with high expertise in electrical and instrumentation and control designs for cement, mining and manufacturing plants. Deep knowledge of international standards, codes and practices in electrical design. His experience also covers engineering revision and optimization, on-site engineering and plant commissioning and start up.

He has carried out projects for Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, InterCement, Cementos Yura, Caribbean Cement, Grupo de Cementos Chihuahua, Lithium Americas, Intrepid Mines and Monsanto, among others.

Ruben TomassiniConstruction Technician – Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina.

Senior Project & Construction Manager with high expertise in Engineering Direction and Works Coordination in international mining, civil and industrial projects. Strong capabilities to develop Trade-Off Analysis, Pre Feasibility and Feasibility Studies in Mining and Infrastructure Projects. International expertise in Planning, Programming and Construction Project Control. Developed large experience in Commissioning and Start-up in Industrial and Civil Projects. He performed on-site works supervision and coordination for Turner Construction Company and Hochtief.

He carried out projects for YMAD, Lithium Americas, Minera IRL, Intrepid Mines, AngloGold Ashanti, InterCement, Aluar, Alpat, Mitsubishi Corp. and Procter & Gamble, among others.

Eloy Amarante

More than 10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering system integration for cement projects, industrial maintenance of heavy equipment and supervision of onsite mechanical assembly. He participated in several cement projects across the world for InterCement and Polysius, in construction supervision as well as revision and integration of the manufacturers engineering equipment with the rest of the disciplines. He has proven experience in equipment dimensioning, technology conversion and design optimization for cement manufacturing facilities.

His participation in several undertakings led to the development of a profound knowledge and relationships in the cement technology market and with each of the suppliers.

He carried out projects for InterCement, Polysius, Grupo Argos, Italcementi, Cimpor, Intrepid Mines, Glencore Xstrata, Cementos Avellaneda, Bunge, Holcim, Caribbean Cement and Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, among others.

Kevin Blankenship

Kevin Blankenship is currently SAXUM Project Director in North America and Global VP Technology.

Kevin earned his B.S. Chemical Engineering Degree at Mississippi State University, and holds a M.S. Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Tennessee.

He has over 20 years of engineering, management, process/operations and leadership experience with extensive project management background in the cement industry and chemical engineering/technology.

During his 17 years in the cement industry, he acquired a wide experience including process control and optimization, developing and maintaining quality standards, and plant technical, safety, and engineering support. In management roles, Kevin facilitated production optimization as a production manager, and led overall plant operations as a plant manager.
